First Connection

If the device is not recognized (USB Oscilloscopes)

1. Use short USB Cables (like those used for portable external CD-ROM readers). In many case the USB cable provided with the oscilloscope is too long and let too much voltage to drop along the distance.

2. Use the App USB Device Info to check if your phone/tablet have the driver for the oscilloscope. If once connected the oscilloscope this software don’t show the device in the “ANDROID” Tab, then the oscilloscope cannot work with the phone.

3. Check with another USB-OTG adapter since in many cases it may be not good or suitable. Avoid to use direct rigid adapters (they are easy to loose connection) and try to use adapters with a short cable.

4. For phones with USB Type-C connector (most of them), the USB power could not be enough for big oscilloscopes, so you should an OTG adapter that allow to power the oscilloscope and also to charge the phone with an external battery pack. DO NOT USE USB power from a different source from a battery pack to avoid ground issues.

  1. Adapter USB-C to USB-A with Power Input (product link)
  2. USB wire (standard, not OTG)
  3. Battery Pack
  4. Oscilloscope

5. Avoid to use double USB cables like those provided with Hantek oscilloscopes (1 Black USB for the Signal, 1 Red USB for the Power) since several users reported to have burned the oscilloscope due to wrong power connection .
